You don’t need a great voice to do a good job of singing when the karaoke machine gets wheeled out. Happily, there are plenty ofsongs that are easy to sing, even for people with a limited vocal range and ability.
Table of Contents
So, I decided to compile a list of twelve of the easiest karaoke songs with something in there for the guys, girls, or groups of either. I’ve also included a few simple singing tips with most of the songs to help you get the very best out of your voice.
So, let’s get to it and take a look at the first song…
Top 112 Easiest Karaoke Songs
1
Sweet Caroline by Neil DiamondThe great thing about songs like this is that they are easy to sing and are well known too. That’s great because most people will know the words, especially the chorus. That kind of takes the pressure off your efforts. That means you’re more likely to relax and do a better job.
“Sweet Caroline” can be sung by either a man or woman as it can be sung in a range of keys. Even better, like most easy karaoke songs, it has a fairly narrow vocal range.
So far, so good…
Another reason I picked this song is that large parts of the song can be sung relatively softly. Take a listen to it, and you’ll see what I mean. The song doesn’t require you to have to belt it out, so there’s little chance of your voice cracking.
The song was written by Neil Diamond in 1969. It sold close to two million copies and has sold even more than this in digital copies. It’s one of his Top 10 most successful songs.
If you’re looking for the same kind of vibe…
And an alternative Neil Diamond karaoke song you should consider is “Cracklin’ Rosie.” This was released in 1970 and is his most successful ever single. Like “Sweet Caroline,” it’s a song that’s sure to put a smile on everyone’s face.
I’d caution that “Cracklin’ Rosie” is probably a better song for the guys. Plus, although not difficult, the vocal range is a little more challenging. Still a great pick, though.
2
Knocking on Heaven’s Door by Bob DylanI’m slowing things down a little now, but I’ve still chosen a song from a similar era. It was written by the amazing singer-songwriter Bob Dylan and released in 1973. It’s one of Dylan’s biggest hits and was taken from the albumPat Garrett & Billy The Kid.
The song is known by just about everyone. One of the reasons for this is that it happens to be one of themost covered songs of all time. There are no less than 150 cover versions and counting.
They’re out there…
Some of the most popular versions are fromEric Clapton, Tracy Chapman,Bryan Ferry, Mark Knopfler, with the help of The Dunblane Choir, or even theSisters of Mercyif you want it even slower and darker.
However, for many, the song will be most associated with theGuns N’ Rosesversion released in 1992 off their album,Use Your Illusion II. Now, the fact is that Axl Rose has one of thebest male voices in Rock music, well, ever. So, stay well clear of his version and make sure you dial in the Bob Dylan original.
If you’re new to karaoke…
It’s agreat choice for an easy karaoke song. And, if you are a nervous singer, you can relax. Because other than almost being able to talk your way through the song, it will be over in just two minutes and thirty-two seconds.
Additionally, when the chorus hits, you can take a break because everyone will likely join in and drown you out anyway. This one is for both sexes, so whatever your vocal range, it’s an easy choice.
3
Can’t Get You Out of My Head by Kylie MinogueI’m going to put in a couple of ones for the girls and then a couple for the guys. We’re starting with the ladies first, and frankly, I don’t think they come much better than this. There’s little doubt that anything you sing from Kylie’s huge back catalog will be a crowd pleaser.
Like most of Kylie’s songs, she didn’t write this one herself. That credit goes to the prolific songwriters Cathy Dennis and Rob Davis.
“Can’t Get You Out of My Head” came from her eighth studio album,Fever, which came out in 2001. The single was first to be released off the album later in the same year. It was a #1 smash hit around the world and has currently sold a staggering five million copies.
I mean, wow!
The single is a much-played Pop/Dance song that’s as likely to be heard as a remix as anything else. The lyrics are hardly taxing to understand. It’s a very simple song of love that’s either unrequited and just the focus of infatuation or an all-encompassing kind.
If you plan on singing this one, I’d urge you to embrace your inner Kylie and try to identify with the extent of the emotions. Consequently, despite the high intensity and fun nature of the music, hold back a bit on the delivery and try not to shout your way through it.
Even better, you might even want to try a rather sinister delivery. After all, the girl in the song does sound a bit nuts, don’t you think?
4
Girlfriend by Avril LavigneIf you want to keep the karaoke fun and high energy, this is a must. “Girlfriend” isLavigne’s best-selling singleand has sold an incredible 7.3 million copies.
It was released in 2007 off her third album,The Best Damn Thing, which also sold over six million copies. Even more amazing it’s that the album is only her third most popular.
Regardless, such is her popularity and fame that when you sing this one, everyone is likely to know and love it. Now, “Girlfriend” is delivered brilliantly by the Canadian Pop/Punk Queen. However, the good news is that it’s not too hard to deliver your own convincing rendition.
One tip for your karaoke performance…
Avril Lavigne sings in a fairly high range. For some of you, this might be a little tricky. So, if you can’t comfortably sing the same notes, simply come down an octave. The song is a little punky and lends itself well to a lower register. Good luck.
5
Hey Jude by The BeatlesThis isThe Beatles’ best-selling songin both the US and the UK. It was released in 1968 and went to #1 on both sides of the Atlantic.
Plus, it achieved an astounding eight weeks at the top spot in the US and sold over eight million copies. When it comes to karaoke, the song is so well known it’s to your advantage.
So, why is this one of the easiest karaoke songs to sing?
It’s because it also falls in a comfortable range, which shouldn’t represent a challenge for even the least gifted of vocalists. Additionally, the lyrics don’t come at you hard and fast. So, if you are not familiar with words, you get plenty of time to digest the next lines.
And even better?
It has that great chorus line that no one can forget. Namely, “na, na, na, na, na, na, naaaa”. It’s certain to get the crowd going and get them on your side.
“Hey, Jude” is agreat easy karaoke song for any age. Although, it’s likely to be more of a hit with an older crowd. If it goes down well and you fancy trying another Beatles hit, then have a go at “Blackbird.” You have less than an octave of range to deal with, so it should be a cinch to sing.
6
If you guys are looking to melt a few hearts in the audience, this is one of thebest easy karaoke songsyou can try. The good news is that not only is it easy to sing but also the lyrics are so simple that there’s no chance of them tripping you up.
For something sung by Joe Cocker…
The range is relatively narrow, with very few highs. So relax because even the highest notes in the song are doable even if you have limited vocal ability. It’s possibly thebest of all Joe Cocker’s songsto have a go at, quite frankly.
The song was originally written byBilly Preston, and this version is an altogether slower affair. It was released in 1974 and featured on Cocker’s album,I Can Stand a Little Rain.
“You Are So Beautiful” achieved huge chart success and went to #5 in the US Billboard Hot 100, making it Cocker’s highest-ever charting single.
When you sing this one…
Make sure you keep your arms under control. But, if you fancy having a go at something more challenging and want to let your arms fly, you could try “Now That the Magic Has Gone” from his 1991 album,Night Calls. A couple of real classics to consider.
7
(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay by Otis ReddingI’ve got a couple of oldies for you now, starting with this well-loved classic. The song goes a long way back. It was released in 1968. No doubt a long time before a good number of you reading this were born.
“(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay” was written by Otis together with Steve Cropper. Otis wrote the foundations of the song while in Sausalito. A great place to visit for a day out if you are ever close to San Francisco. And there are still places you can hang out by the bay.
So, why choose this song for karaoke?
The song has a slow, soulful, and dreamy vibe to it. This makes it a relativelyeasy song to sing at karaoke. You can just relax into it, and like a lot of the easiest karaoke songs, there’s no need to push your voice.
Although it’s most associated with a man’s voice, it’s easy for a woman to sing too. This is because Otis has a high vocal register for a man. Consequently, girls may find the range more comfortable.
If you’re a guy taking it on, you might want to take things down an octave, and the song will work well. With over four million copies sold, this is another well-loved song that is bound to be a hit at karaoke.
8
Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers“Ain’t No Sunshine” is from the same era; it was released in 1971 and is also relatively easy to sing. However, there is a small section that could potentially cause an issue. But, more of that, and ways around it, a little bit later.
There is no doubt that this is Bill Withers’s most popular and best-known song. It was taken from the album,Just As I Am, which was also released in the same year. “Ain’t No Sunshine” went on to sell over a million copies and reached #6 in the US.
Compared to the previous song, this Bill Withers classic is sung in a relatively low register making it easy to sing in the original key. However, if it’s still too high, this soulful, laid-back song is ideal to deliver an octave or two lower.
So, what about the tricky bit?
Towards the end of the song, you have a long and repeated series of the line, “I know.” This is no less than twenty-six times. What’s more, in theory, at least, there’s no place to take a breath.
So, what to do? Take a breath, of course. But, more than this, make sure it’s a very big one. You’ll need to do this right at the end of the second verse as soon as you’ve delivered your final line.
Additionally, don’t push out all your breath as you deliver the lines, and try to half sing and half speak them to get to the end.
Don’t worry, though…
If you still end up having to fill up with air again, no problem. This is karaoke, after all. So, just enjoy it, and everyone else will as well. With the song lasting just two minutes and three seconds, soak up the fun while you can.
One final thing…
It has so few lyrics that it’s relatively easy to learn them in a matter of minutes. It’s one of the first songs I learned and performed. And, I can tell you, it’s honestly got to be one of the easiest to learn.
That means, if you want to take your karaoke to the next level, you can sing this one without having to look at the screen. Thereby adding a touch of professionalism to your performance.
No matter how it goes, I’m sure Bill Withers, who sadly passed away in 2020, will be looking down. Singing along and smiling in approval.
9
Stayin’ Alive by The Bee GeesBefore you start throwing things at the screen, let me explain. The truth is that almost no one can sing in the high-pitched register of either Maurice or Robin. Plus, I can’t think of a single person who can even begin to match the wonderful falsetto for Barry. Let alone make it sound beautiful.
We mere mortals were never made for such heights…
You’ve probably guessed already that you’re going to have to take this down a register or two. However, the song is sung by three brothers. Therefore, it makes sense to keep this one for a group effort.
Now, happily, that comes with a few benefits. The first of these is the flexibility to sing in any key you want. If there are three or more of you tackling “Stayin’ Alive,” chances are that one of you has a different natural register.
Make use of this and just sing in whatever key you’re comfortable with. That will help great a Bee Gee-like harmonic effect.
Another benefit of this being a group effort…
You don’t have to carry all the load for the delivery. If it goes wrong, and it won’t, you can always blame your best mate. That’s what they’re there for.
If you are very shy, agreat group karaoke songis always a good way to get yourself on stage and shake loose. But, don’t worry too much. This is a song that everyone will be dancing to and singing along with during the chorus. They’ll all be having such a great time it’s bound to be a karaoke hit.
One final point is that once you’ve found the right key, it’s a surprisingly easy song to sing. This is principal because there is a small vocal range throughout the song’s entirety.
10
Wannabe by The Spice GirlsWe’ve had afeel-good, easy karaoke dance songfor the guys, so now, here’s one for the girls.
The Spice Girls exploded onto the scene in 1994, and with them, they brought in the “Girl Power” generation. “Wannabe” was almost the de facto anthem for this new era. It also brought the Spice Girls instant recognition around the world.
The single went to #1 in the US, the UK, and several other nations around the world. It went on to sell over seven million copies and made The Spice Girls the best-selling girl band of all time.
So, how easy is it to sing?
The great thing is that, with a group, it is easy to take a break or come in and drop out at any time you like. You don’t have to decide who is going to sing what.
Just play it by ear, and if you all end up singing all of the parts, it honestly won’t matter. The song was always more about attitude, so give it plenty of that, and you’ll be fine.
If you feel like you genuinely can’t sing to save your life, don’t worry. With “Wannabe,” there’s still hope. Just channel your inner Posh Spice, aka Victoria (Adams) Beckham, and don’t sing at all! She made a career out of walking around pouting, and she did just fine.
11
My Way by Frank SinatraI’m going to finish with two of themost requested karaoke songs of all time. Starting with one for the guys this time and a song that you’ll all be familiar with, namely “My Way.” I’m sure that nearly all of you will associate the song with Frank Sinatra.
However, I could pretty safely bet that you didn’t know the song was originally written in French. The song was composed byJacques Revaux, and the lyrics were written by Claude Francois and Gilles Thibaut.
It wasn’t until Paul Anka translated the song into English and passed it on to Frank Sinatra in 1969 that it became huge.
To be precise…
“My Way” by Frank Sinatra ended up selling over two million copies and charted around the world. In the UK, it stayed in the charts for a record 124 weeks, which is still to be beaten.
What’s the best way to sing it?
You can sing it any way you want. Sorry for the pun, but this is a song that can be sung “your way.” If you don’t believe me, take a listen to the infamous Sid Vicious version recorded in 1978 and taken from the album,The Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Swindle.
“My Way” has been covered by numerous musicians. But, theSid Viciousinterpretation should persuade you that however you sing it, or however bad your voice, it’s impossible to get wrong.
This is a good one to end the night with after you’re all a little merry.
12
I Will Survive by Gloria GaynorThis is without question one for the girls, and again, well worth leaving until the end of the night.
It was released by Gaynor in 1978 as a single from her hugely popular sixth studio album,Love Tracks. The single has sold a staggering 14 million copies and has become a disco anthem over the years. Consequently, there are numerous dance versions along with a host of more traditional covers.
Like a lot of the other easiest karaoke songs on my list, “I Will Survive” also has a relatively narrow range of just over a single octave. Even better, the top of the range is a C5 which is easily achievable for most women.
Depending on your mood…
You could choose to sing this on your own or get some help from your friends. Even more so than “Wannabe,” the structure makes it highly flexible. You could sing some of the verses on your own and get help with the choruses.
Alternatively, sing the whole thing as a duet or with as many people as can fit around the mic. It will all be good, I promise you.
This is a song to belt out, let go, and let the emotions pour. Unlike some of the othereasy to sing karaoke songson my list that call for restraint, you can let rip with this one. Furthermore, most people will be expecting it and feel disappointed if you don’t. Have some fun and make some noise.

Easiest Karaoke Songs – Final Thoughts
So, there you have it. I hope you found at least one song on my list that you feel you’d be comfortable having a go at. But, don’t worry if you haven’t. Often theeasiest songs to sing at karaokeare those you love and have a connection with.
Remember that the origins of karaoke are all about having fun. A perfect voice and delivery are honestly not what it’s about. Frequently, the most applause is for those who abandon themselves to the singing. I suggest, where it’s appropriate, you do that and commit to enjoying yourself.
One final piece of advice…
Especially for the shyer amongst you. Pick two or three songs you like a lot and feel you can easily sing. Then, practice them a few times at home, so you feel comfortable.
Once you’ve done that, make sure you store the names of the songs on your phone. So, if the occasion ever arises, you’ll be good to go and feel a lot less nervous about it.
Until next time, have some fun doing some singing.
