How to unlock dyes in GW2? ›

This feature is unlocked account-wide at level 6, with dyes also being available account-wide after unlocking them. A dye will state, in the information panel, if it has already been unlocked. Attempting to unlock the dye again will result in a chat message stating it has been unlocked and the dye will not be consumed.

Once a color is selected, apply the dye to one of the panels next to any one of the six armor pieces, back item, glider, or mounts.

Bubblegum Dye is an exclusive dye from the Delectable Birthday Dyes.

Each kit contains a single dye randomly selected from a pool of 25 colors: 19 colors are from the standard palette and six are exclusive to that kit, the exceptions being Blue Shift, Shadow, and the combined Flame and Frost dye kits.

Celestial Dye is the "whitest" non-gemstore dye and is typically a cheaper option than Permafrost.

Bright Whites: after Permafrost, Eternal Ice is the brightest and not too expensive. Celestial is great too & less expensive, but slightly more yellow-y + not as bright as Eternal Ice (especially on metals).

Glossy Black Dye is an exclusive dye from the Solar and Lunar Dye Kit.

Salvaging high level exotic gear yields between 0 and 3 Globs of Dark Matter. Using a Master's Salvage Kit, the estimated average is ~0.5 globs per exotic for exotic gear level 68 or better. Using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, the estimated average is ~1 glob per exotic for exotic gear level 68 or higher.

Glider skins can be unlocked account-wide by purchasing them in the Gem Store or by crafting legendary back items which also unlock the glider version. The skins have only cosmetic effects; there are no gameplay advantages associated with them.

Can outfits be dyed GW2? ›

Every outfit can be dyed and has up to four dye channels to customize colors uniformly across the entire outfit. Outfits cannot be combined with any other armor skins, except for back items. Applying an outfit does not cost any Transmutation Charge and it is possible to change it without any restriction.

To unlock the ability to dye, talk to Swyrgeim in Vesper Bay, the same NPC who unlocked glamour. As the same for glamour, you need to be at least level 15 an far enough in the main scenario quests to have access to Western Thanalan. Once you complete the quest “Color Your World,” you'll be able to dye gear.

Where to find Division 2 dyes. The trick to finding the Division 2 dyes locations is to look out for orange supply crates hanging from parachutes. These are often caught up in trees, or building structures. The key thing is that if it's an orange crate you're guaranteed a dye when you shoot it to release the contents.

The Dye Trader is an NPC that sells the Dye Vat and other dye-related items. He will move in when the following criteria have been met: There is an empty house. The player has a dye, dye ingredient, or Strange Plant in their inventory, and at least four other town NPCs are in the world.

Dye modules are one-use each, and can be crafted by Artificers, bought from other players on the GTN, bought from the Cartel Market with Cartel Coins, schematics can be earned through the Reputation system, and there are a few special dyes available via the Collector's Edition and Security Vendor.
