Buck 503 Prince Lockback Pocket Knife
The Buck 503 is called the Prince. It is a 3 3/8" closed, lockback pocket knife with stainless steel clip blade and treated Birchwood scales. The handles are flanked with nickel silver bolsters.
The blade is tang stamped Buck 503 U.S.A. next to a depiction of the outline of the state of Idaho. This marking indicates this Buck knife to have been made in the year 2000 the first year of production at the new Buck Facility in Post Falls, Idaho.
The Buck 503 is one of the Buck 500 Slimline Series lockback knives. This knife has been carried but lightly used. The drop point stainless steel blade appears unsharpened with straight, equal, bevels, and is very sharp. It locks up tight as a drum.
The nickel silver bolsters show some carry wear in the form of light scratches. The Birchwood scales are free of any chips or cracks and they are tightly pinned to the stainless liners.
The year 2000 stamp mark gives this classic lockback Buck knife appeal to the collector. The quality materials, and workmanship of Buck knives makes this one an attractive user too.
No matter how you decide to use this knife you will not be disappointed. But best of all.... "It's A Buck!!" |
