Gerber Sportsman 3 5/8" Closed Lockback Knife w/ Diamond GTE Shield

The Gerber Sportsman Lockback pocket knife has long been out of production.  Always a very popular knife with those who wanted a good quality knife for everyday carry.  It was also a very popular knife to be used as a presentation knife.  Many companies had their logo's attached to the brass frame and presented them as awards.  This knives have a large following in the collectors market.

This 3 5/8" closed Gerber Sportsman has an impressive GTE shield attached.  The shield carries 8 small diamonds.  The brass frame has some battering on the top edge of the frame but it is very attractive and will make an excellent display piece for any serious collector. The Rosewood inserts are free of any cracks, chips or scratches. 

The 2 5/8" blade has only light surface scratches which may only be from handling wear.  The blade locks up tight and closes with good snap.  No wiggle at all in the joint.

Marbles Sportsman Model 62 Hunting Knife

 

The Marbles Model 62 is called the Sportsman.  The 6" clip blade hunter was made from 1954 until 1979.  The three line stamp mark on this knife indicates this to have been made before 1975.  This stamp mark was ended that year.

You will find this fixed blade hunter to be in Excelelnt condition.  The blade appears not to have been sharpened at all.  It has a patina of tarnish and is free of any pitting or rust.  The stacked leather handle features red and black inserts and an aluminum pommel. 

This classic, vintage, Marbles hunting knife comes with a leather belt sheath that is a perfect fit but is not the original.  This one has not been buffed or tampered with.  A great addition to any collection and ready to provide many years of reliable service in the field.
