Mark remembers his first day at the Russell Boulevard plant—September 20, 1972. Hired at age 18 to haft household and hunting knives, Mark would move on to work on pocket knives at the Owens Way plant. He’d spend several years in apprenticeship to become a Journeyman Maintenance worker and is now a Tool and Die maker. Mark’s favorite Case is the Mini Trapper (’07), and his credo is something we should all live by: “Always be willing to learn something.”

Jeanne became a Case Associate February 7, 1972. From welding to leveling, flashing, soft-straightening, bone sawing, concave grinding, inspection and shipping, Jeanne Dubois has performed many of the jobs needed to make a Case knife. This third generation Case Associate wears an infectious smile and exudes a bubbly personality. Everybody considers Jeanne to be a friend! Jeanne believes it’s “the craftsmanship and quality of the knives” that make them the most collected in the world. Her advice: “Give your best every day and treat everyone as you’d like to be treated.”

Dick’s Case career started May 30, 1972. Originally Case’s Building and Grounds Maintenance man, Dick quickly became an Electrical Maintenance apprentice, and has since been part of that department at Case for more than 36 years! Dick’s favorite Case pattern is the Slimline Trapper (’048). He looks forward to knowing what he’s going to be doing each day, spreading his positive attitude with his signature motto: “Cheers!”

Don’s first day at Case was March 7, 1973. Don’s career at Case began at the presses, where he’d punch out 40,000 blades in just a few days. Don’s favorite Case is the ’18 Stockman, because having three blades means you almost always have a sharp one at the ready!

W.R. Case & Son's made this knife in 2001.  The tang is stamped with the Case XX Millenium stamp mark of the 2000's with 5 X's and 4 O's.  The Carbon Steel blades show the start of some specks.  They are unsharpened and are tight in the joints.  The yellow composition scales are brass pinned to brass liners and flanked with nickel silver bolsters.

We grade this piece in Excellent condition.  Attractive for display in your collection and still has a lifetime of use if you want it for pocket carry.

The W.R. Case & Son's Slim Line Trapper is a 4 1/8" closed, slip joint pocket knife with jigged Delrin scales brass pinned to brass liners and nickel silver bolsters.  Sometimes called a Bare Head pocket knife since the bolsters are only on the from of the handle. 

The 3 1/4" stainless steel clip blade is tang stamped with the Case Millenium mark with 5 X's and 4 O's.  Then reverse tang is stamped "USA 61048 SS".  This is a year 2001 made Case pocket knife.

 This example has been lightly used, but not abused.  The blade shows some light surface scratches from that use.  It is solid and tight in the joint with no wiggle and has great snap.  The nickel silver bolsters show pocket carry with a few light coin nicks.  The handle is tightly pinned to the liners.  This piece will grade in Excellent condition as described.
